Exclusive Interview With Mollie Blake

Mollie Blake took a bit of time out of her busy blog touring schedule to answer my curious questions about her work and her latest release, ‘Keeping You’.

 

Mollie, there’s a question I love to ask authors of romantic fiction. Like many writers, I often find myself creating a heroine who’s a ‘smarter, better me’. Where did your main character come from?

Let me just say – I am not in any of my books 😉 My main characters just come to life in my head, I don’t consciously base them on anyone I know. There is a French man in The Secret At Arnford Hall who was influenced by a guy I worked with in France but in the nicest possible way.

That’s interesting.  Can you briefly share something with me and our readers about your writing process?

For each book, I have a new notebook, distinctive in some way.  And if possible the cover of the notebook will have some bearing on my story. For example, the hero in

Guiltless is obsessed with straight lines, and this is the cover of my notebook for this story

Can you summarise your plot in a Tweet-sized sentence?

A very private, celibate man falls in love for the first time but has to face dangers from his past before he can have his happy ever after.

What’s next, Mollie?

Currently completing a novella and continuing my 6^th book, so lots to do.
